Roasted shoulder of Rusty Gun rare breed pork with apples quince, pomme anna, pork and apricot pie and Rusty Gun bitter jus

Herfordshire honey pannacotta with strawberry, mint and lime sauce

As part of Hitchin Rythmns of the World Festival we will be having two Sunday preview evenings from 6pm - 9pm

As part of the festival appeal all acts will be playing in the garden which gives you the perfect opportunity to come and try our new fire pit!

There are lots of other exciting things going on too....new piglets, new dishes, new garden and now new music events. We're really excited about it and we look forward to seeing you soon!!

Our revised Rusty Gun menu (available lunch and dinner) features Wild Mushroom and Stilton risotto with pan fried local pigeon breast and Slow cooked Knebworth Park venison and red wine casserole in a cottage loaf!! Delicious!

August Bank Holiday weekend

We are holding a two day Bank Holiday Fair in our garden on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th August.

There will be fresh local food, wine tasting, cask beers from The Old Cannon brewery and beers from around the world, market stalls selling food, candles and plants plus live music.

The Rusty Gun has been shortlisted in the MA200 awards for 'Best Food Offer' This is a massive honour as we are so new, and we are very excited to have our food judged nationally. We will keep you updated with our progress.

Hog Roast and Jazz in the Garden!

Come and join us in the garden for our Hog Roast and Jazz evening on Friday 9th July. We'll start cooking the day before to make sure the meat is perfect. You can start eating from 6.00pm and we will be going on until late.

The Rusty Gun is a great country pub that combines three great elements of, local beers from The Old Cannon Brewery, great wines from The Hill-Smith family and a cosy atmosphere with of our greatest passion... food.

Our bar menu is perfect after a ramble around the countryside and includes pub classics like local sausages and mash or a home-made pie with hand cut chips. In the restaurant you will be able to enjoy some of head chef, Jollan D'Souza's more adventurous dishes all prepared lovingly with as much local produce as we can get our hands on. Then, when you find that delicious something you wish you could have at home...you can! Many of the items we use in our cooking will be available for sale in our shop.

Managing Partner Andy and the team are looking forward to welcoming you...feel free just to come and have a drink and a look, we promise you'll be tempted to eat with us next time!
